facts

Counselling is available for young people from 0 to 25 years old. This age range reflects the period of significant neurobiological development for young people.

Confidentiality:

Everything discussed within counselling will be kept private. This includes not sharing what the young person discusses in counselling with their caregiver or others unless the young person has provided permission for this to happen, this is important for establishing trust in the relationship between the young person and their counsellor. The exception to this is instances wherein there may be a risk of harm to the young person or others in not sharing information, any sharing of information will then be explained to the young person first.

Referrals:

Prior to meeting a simple intake form is asked to be completed by the caregiver and/ or young person; this is available on request and provided via email.

GPs provide referrals for Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP) via email; this is in addition to the caregiver completed intake form.

Medicare rebates of $81.90 are available through MHCP. Up to 10 appointments are available per year through a MHCP.

For a 1 hour counselling session the full fee is $140.00 with a gap fee of $57.70 and the concession fee is 120.00 with a gap fee of $37.70.
